Dance Categories:
- Indian Classical: Only pure classical music is allowed. Filmy or film-inspired music is not permitted in this category.
- Bollywood: All forms of film-based or commercial music fall under this category, including Bollywood, freestyle, semi-classical, and Western styles.
- Folk: Only traditional, non-filmy folk music is allowed. Songs should be rooted in authentic regional or cultural traditions.
AGE GROUPS:
- Age 7 – 12
- Age 13 – 18
- Age 19 +
- Mixed Age Group
Time Duration for Solo/ Duet : ( Maximum limit )
- Indian Classical : 4 minutes
- Bollywood/Freestyle/Western/ Fusion/ Semiclassical : 3 minutes
- Folk : 3 minutes
Time Duration for Groups : ( Maximum limit )
- For all Group Dance Categories : 5 minutes
Number of Participants for Group :
- Minimum : 6
- Maximum : 16
Redisteration fees :
- Solo – $30
- Duet – $50
- Group – $20 per person
General Guidelines:
- Participants can only enter in any two categories from Solo/Duet/Group.
- Participant age must be 7 yrs and above at the time of registration.
- Age criteria must be strictly followed by group entries. If found that the ages are mixed, the group entry will be disqualified.
- For Duet registration both participants can fill the same form and for Group Choreographers have to fill the form.
- Nexstar team has the right to amend the rules at anytime as they deem fit for the integrity of the competition.
- Nexstar reserves the rights to use the videos and photographs of the participants during the competition for promotional purposes.
- Selected performances will be judged by a panel of External Jury members and their decisions will be final.
- Jury members will mark the performances based on – Technique, Choreography, Synchronization, Expressions, Costume and Overall impression.
- Disputes or arguments regarding judging decisions will not be entertained at any point of the competition.
- Damage to the venue or unacceptable behavior will be the responsibility of the Team/Choreographer/Individual.
- Age appropriate costumes are required for participation.
We also encourage you to bring your own unique style and creativity to the stage. Themes and Props will be given extra weightage.
Audition Rules:
- Audition video submission is mandatory for all the participants.
- Audition videos will go through a selection process by the internal committee of Nexstar and any objections will not be entertained by the committee.
- Videos must be submitted in YouTube link format along with the participant’s Name, Age Group, and Category via email to nexstar.nc@gmail.com by the video audition deadline.
- Participants must send their photos along with their audition video. (Only one group photo for group entry)
- Video must be between 1.00 – 2.00 min.
- Video must be recorded by front angle only, clearly showing all team members.
- All team members must be present in the video for group entries.
- Selected participants will be notified via email by Nexstar.
- Final music tracks must be submitted in MP3 format via email to nexstar.nc@gmail.com by the final music submission deadline.
- Participants are allowed to make minor changes to the choreography after the selection.
- If a song is already taken by another act, you may be asked to select an alternate track.
Finale Rules:
- Contestants should be ready to perform at least 1 hour prior to their scheduled performance time.
- Green rooms will be on sharing basis.
- Costume/make up /hair accompanist will not be provided by Nexstar.
- Participants are allowed to perform only once.
- Stage rehearsal will not be provided to the participants.
- Applying Alta / Marker on hand is strictly prohibited.

1st and 2nd prize from each age group and dance category will be awarded with trophies and medals.
